�Combustion and explosions and solutions to protect properties for businesses� is the the main content of the conference held together by AAA Assurance Corporation Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry � HCMC branch (VCCI-HCMC) and HCMC Police Department of fire prevention and fighting.

Reporting at the conference, senior colonel Tran Thanh Chau � Deputy Director of HCMC Police Department of fire prevention and fighting informed: Averagely in our country every year there take place 2,000 small or big fire cases and more than 1,170 forest fires, killing 100 people and injuring another 200, causing property losses of more than hundreds of billion dongs. HCMC is the largest economic center in the country, gathering many key points in fire prevention and fighting such as residential areas, industrial zones, processing zones, high-rise buildings... From 2002 to the first six months of this years, there have been 1,931 fire cases citywide, killing 120 people, causing damage of more than 3,750 billion dongs. The main causes are electricity problems, carelessness in daily activities, welding and cutting metal... Upon this reality, Police Department of fire prevention and fighting has strived for upgrading people�s and businesses� awareness in combustion and explosion prevention. The Department suggested businesses heed to buying combustion and explosion insurance, because this is a necessary and urgent demand, suitable with our current economics and the integration trend into the world economics.

Although there is high likelihood of the threat of combustion and explosion, the insurance compensation during the past time has just reached 600 billion dongs, accounting for 40% of the total damage according to Vietnam Insurance Association. Not o­nly in businesses but in people, the awareness in buying combustion and explosion insurance is low. This is mainly due to not being accustomed to property insurance, or being afraid of facing annoyance in insurance compensation payment despite being well aware of the destructive consequences.

Upon the circumstances, o­n 8/11/2006, the Government promulgated Decree 130 about compulsory combustion and explosion, in which it stipulates: �Agencies, organizations, and individuals being the object of compulsory combustion and explosion insurance are obliged to buy insurance from companies licensed to do business in compulsory combustion and explosion insurance in operation in Vietnam�, �The government also encourages agencies, organizations, individuals not being the object of compulsory combustion and explosion insurance as this Decision to buy combustion and explosion insurance o­n the basis of willingness and conforming to involved legal regulations�. Deputy Finance Miniter also signed decision no 28/2007/Q?-BTC o­n issuing compulsory combustion and explosion regulations and service charges.

Ms. Do Thi Kim Lien � General Director of AAA Assurance Corporation said: in order to help businesses with solutions to prevent and limit risks, develop stably and sustainably, AAA Assurance Corporation has promoted a new product in combination with Eximbank Vietnam. The product is named: �ASSURED TO SETTLE DOWN� with qualified service and many added values such as: simple registration procedure, prompt and timely damage inspection and compensation. Compensation is paid through Eximbank account. Clients are permitted to borrow money from the bank with the amount from 10 million to 500 million dongs (depending o­n the ability and mortgaged property), with the maximum time of loan of ten years. Within the bank line granted, clients can use credit card/overdraft card with the maximum amount of 100 million dongs. The procedure is simple and fast: free of files fee, property assessment fee, payment-before-due fee.
